I grew up with stories of hunting and fishing, harsh winters, sun-filled summers, and a life deeply rooted in nature.
From as long as I can remember, I’ve known that I wanted to live right here in Ilulissat — quite possibly the most beautiful town on Earth.
My family were proud fishermen from Atammik and Maniitsoq, living off the land and the sea. Today, I continue that way of life in my own way: living off the land by sharing it with others — showing its beauty, its stories, and its spirit to visitors, and here on Instagram.

Nuuk is the capital and largest city of Greenland, located on the southwest coast at the mouth of a large fjord system, known for its colorful houses, dramatic mountain backdrop, and status as the country`s cultural and economic center. Founded in 1728, it`s one of the world`s smallest capitals by population (just over 20k), with a mix of Inuit and Danish culture, and serves as the seat of government, housing the national parliament and university.
Since our flight was diverted and we originally hadn’t planned on visiting Nuuk I had a free day to explore. Over the course of 8 hrs and about 14km I basically walked the entire city front to back. It was an interesting time to visit as you can see the changes taking place across the capital with new construction juxtaposed with the traditional architecture. I hope the Greenlandic people can strike the right balance between modernization and tradition as they move forward.

Idag en meget smuk vandretur fra Inuk Hostel i den nordvestlige del af Nuuk og igennem det kvarter der hedder Qernertunnguit. Vi gik op over fjeldet og ned igennem Myggedalen, endnu en lille del af Nuuk, som ligger langs fjorden og har fine farverige huse og smukke udsigter. Beautiful Greenland – Ilulissat Icefjord. The ice comes from Jakobshavn Glacier, which is located 40 km upstream from the Icefjord. Jakobshavn Glacier is the most productive glacier in the Northern Hemisphere. It moves at a rate of 20–35 meters per day.
By the way, did you know that the shortest distance between Greenland and Denmark is 2.068 km, while the shortest distance between Greenland and the USA is 1.975 km! And even though Greenland looks big on a map, the USA is 4,5 times larger than Greenland. There are so many people who know so little about Greenland.

Every January, the town holds what’s called a Culture Night. Where local businesses and cultural institutions open their doors for free activities, exhibitions and performances.
