Here, winter isn’t a season you wait out. It’s the foundation everything moves on.
When the fjords freeze, they turn into temporary highways. Sea ice connects places that are unreachable by boat in summer – changing daily life, travel routes, and distances overnight.
💡 Local tip: Snow conditions can shift quickly with wind and temperature. Always travel with local knowledge – routes that look solid one day can change the next.
In East Greenland, winter simplifies the landscape – and reveals how closely life follows ice, light, and weather.

Greenland is now a hot topic. Called a piece of ice. In fact, I have never visited a more beautiful place than Greenland. It is colorful, with blue glaciers, mirror-still water, and dark, misty mountains. East Greenland, Scoresby Sund, took my breath away. 💙

🇬🇱 Nuuk, Greenland — The World’s Smallest Capital With the Brightest Colors
I didn’t expect a capital city to feel like a cozy neighborhood… but Nuuk isn’t like anywhere else.
Colorful houses line the road like a box of crayons, each one tied to Greenlandic history — from old fishing traditions to the way families once navigated long Arctic winters.
A few things that surprised me:
• Nuuk is the smallest capital city in the world by population
• Many houses are painted bright colors so fishermen could spot them from the sea
• Greenlandic culture blends Inuit roots with Danish influence — you feel it in the architecture, the language, the rhythm of daily life
• The city sits between mountains and ocean, so every turn feels like a postcard
If you love slow travel:
This is the kind of place where you roll the windows down, breathe in the Arctic air, and let the quiet teach you something about yourself.
My TravelTude Tip:
Travel is an investment in you — and sometimes the smallest places leave the biggest imprint.

Greenland has a valley that looks like a painting… and it ends in a fjord. 🏔️🌿
📍 Igaliku, Kujataa UNESCO World Heritage Area (South Greenland) 🇬🇱
This tiny sheep-farming village sits at the end of Igaliku Fjord, surrounded by green meadows and steep mountains—an unreal contrast you don’t expect in Greenland.
📌 Coordinates (village area): ~60.99°N, 45.43°W
🚤 How to get there: Travel via Narsarsuaq (South Greenland). From there, take a boat transfer along the fjords to Igaliku (local operators run summer routes). Many travelers combine it with nearby Norse ruins in Kujataa.
🗓️ Best time to visit: June–September for mildest weather, long daylight, and regular boat connections.
If you’ve been craving a destination that feels quiet, remote, and completely different from anywhere else… this is your sign to go north—and slow down.

My opinion from visitgreenland
“Greenland is probably one of the most incredible places in the Arctic.
A land where nature draws the history of those who inhabit it. I traveled along Disko Bay and was stranded in Upernavik due to bad weather.
I found myself alone in one of the northernmost villages in Greenland. I had no contacts there—but what I discovered was a remarkable sense of humanity. When I reached out to the locals, they welcomed me with warmth, revealing a culture preserved by ice and time. They shared stories that felt timeless, passed down through generations. The light is infinite, the silence is deafening. Then the weather changes: snow and wind arrive.
A new story of Arctic Visions begins right here, where I was supposed to stop only for a technical layover, and where instead I had the chance to encounter a culture I will never forget.”
